THOUSAND OAKS, CA - On September 4, 2010, John William Tucker passed away in Thousand Oaks, CA after a valiant battle with cancer. Mr. Tucker was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on June 28, 1945. He graduated from RJ Reynolds High School, and he continued his education at North Carolina State University. After college, John spent several years in North Carolina before moving to Southern California. During his successful career in the high-tech industry, he also lived in the Minneapolis and Chicago areas before moving back to Los Angeles in 1984. His accomplished career included executive positions at leading companies such as Unisys, Siemens, Micom and ACT Networks. John was passionate about the game of golf, loved football and country music, and enjoyed being with his family and friends. He was a remarkable man who loved life and all it had to offer. His charisma, charm and kind spirit brightened the lives for all who knew him. John is survived by his wife, Linda Carlson; daughters, Brook Klein (Scott) and Cami Wolff; sons Richard Carlson (Jennifer) and David Carlson (Susan); mother Frances Tucker; brother Patrick Tucker (Cameron); mother in-law Lisbeth Carroll; sister in-law Laura Carroll; seven wonderful grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. A celebration of life in his honor will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010, at Advent Moravian Church, 1514 W. Clemmonsville Rd., Winston Salem NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made in his name in support of pancreatic cancer research to the Shirley Hobbs Memorial Fund Foundation, 419 Pine Court, Lake Bluff, IL 60044 (www.shmmf.com).
