So many years! History major at Agnes Scott College, M.L.S from University of Michigan, MEd. from Spalding University, post-grad work in languages and industrial history. Returned to the study of history after a career as public, school, and college librarian. Lived in the Netherlands, Mexico, and "up North." Taught English to Dutch and Hispanic adults, imported and sold French antiques, became a Master Gardener. Decided to retire in W-S, returning with husband Jim (of 45 years !!) two years ago. We've just completed the renovation of an 1890 house in Old Salem. I'm enjoying studying piano under Barbara Lister-Sink at Salem College and researching the 19th century work of the local Fogle Brothers Construction Company.
I don't remember much about high school, but I'm looking forward to seeing over a hundred interesting people! Guess I better get out that old yearbook.

After graduating from college, I served in the military in Viet Nam from 1968-69 (312th USMC hospital).  I taught, coached, and served as an Assistant Principal in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools for 30+ years.  I'm now retired and living my dreams.  I spend my time helping my wife raise show dogs (CKCS), loooking after our horses, buying and selling old advertising items, and traveling in Europe and the western US.  We have 3 children (2 boys and a girl) and 2 grandchildren (1 boy and 1 girl).  My fond RJR memories include good friends, Friday night football games, the Key Club Follies, and hanging out on the landing.

Update: For 55th Reunion RJR Class of 63 - September 30, 2018

I am so glad we had our Age 65 Reunion in 2010 because that’s the last time I was home to Winston-Salem. My Multiple Sclerosis has been stable for years but other medical conditions and complications have left me in a perpetual “state of recovery” and restricted from travel.  Now mostly housebound with helpers, I’m blessed with a body determined to heal and I hope to return home eventually to see my family and friends. Maybe we can still have “dinner with Robin” if I’m not there for a Reunion.

During these past eight years I’ve happily transitioned into our “serene seventies.” In my academic career, as permanent Professor Emerita of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, I’ve continued to retire fully and focus on consulting and volunteering. To my joy, the last book I contributed to was on the history of adolescent medicine and the pioneers who trained me, as together we founded this new specialty. It’s a pleasure to watch many of those I trained now become leaders in this field. I continue on selected professional executive boards and as a consultant.

As I simplify life, my passions remain learning, reading, and cooking gourmet (now gluten-free) food. We’re downsizing what’s in my much too large house and looking for a more accessible “next home.” My family in Winston-Salem is thriving. Brother Kevin and niece Kendall (14) and nephew Rob Bradford, Denise, and son Tommy are all there. My sister Linda Bradford (married to Steve’s brother Bob for 51 years) unexpectedly passed away last year. So many reasons to come see everyone! My “Denver Family” (in-laws) and friends and colleagues here for 47 years are a true blessing and strongest reason for remaining here.

Seeing the new pictures in the preview of David Bell’s amazing Photo Carrousel has been wonderful. I’ll be with you there in spirit as we have a great time celebrating our 55th Reunion!

From Robin
For 2010 for Age 65 Reunion:
After Reynolds came 12 more years of school and training: I graduated from Duke ('67) and Duke School of Medicine ('71), then the Univ. of Colorado Health Center for my Pediatric Residency and Adolescent Fellowship, with a year at UCal Berkeley for my MPH.

I've loved my career as a doctor, taking care of thousands of delightful, exuberant adolescents and working with many exceptional colleagues. I worked for Denver Health and Hospitals for 20 years with many titles but primarily Director of Adolescent Services. Adolescent Medicine was a new specialty, and we spent many wonderful years developing programs, establishing teen clinics and school-based health centers, founding adolescent societies and councils, teaching med students and trainees, and bringing the field into its own. I‘m now retired from clinical practice, but continue as Professor Emerita of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the Univ. of Colo. School of Medicine, actively volunteering with academic activities and professional organizations.

An exciting new activity I'm honored to have is that the National Multiple Sclerosis Society has asked me to help write understandable MS information for the growing number of adolescents with MS (late-onset MS is why I retired from clinical pratice sooner than expected).

I was happily married for 25 years, didn't get children though we certainly tried, and I have 7 wonderful nieces and nephews (4 on his side, 3 on mine) to enjoy. Denver has been a great place to live for nearly 40 years.

The Age 65 Reunion will be a terrific event. Thank you so much to the superb Planning Team and everyone involved!

After RJR, I attended Davidson College, then Vanderbilt University getting math degrees everywhere.  I worked 11 years at The MITRE Corporation in Bedford, MA supporting the U.S. Air Force.  During that time, I spent 2.5 years in a hole in the ground in Germany.  I then worked at NSA, Trusted Information Systems, MITRE again, EDS, retired in 2000, and unretired in 2001.  I spent a year supporting the Air Force Chief Information Officer, then a year each supporting the new Department of Homeland Security and the Defense Intelligence Agency.  I retired again in 2005 and have happily grown obsolescent, picking up hobbies, writing papers and reluctantly agreeing to give talks here and there.

My older son David lives in Geneva with his family.  My younger son Jon and his family live in Seattle, make that Wellington, New Zealand.  My wife Kate and I live in Winston-Salem on Lyndhurst Avenue -- my old neighborhood

In October, 2013, I was inducted into the Cyber Security Hall of Fame for work I did on computer security between 1972 and 1991.  (There's a website:  http://cybersecurityhalloffame.com).

My main hobbies are building web apps and wood turning.  Singing in the choir and playing in the Moravian funeral band.

After high school I graduated from Wake Forest and UNC-CH.  I am now retired but worked as a Medical Research Technician and taught school.  I married Stan Bingham, and we have 4 daughters and 2 granddaughters.  I volunteer with the Girl Scouts, Davidson County Arts Council and the Young Adult Methodist Church, and am the Senior Project Advisor for the Energy United Advisory Board.  I love relaxing, enjoying, and hanging out with my grandchildren.  I have fond memories of the landing and the halls in the mornings before school, the up and down stairs, hall monitors, and finding a seat at lunch!

I went to Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and majored in studio art, then to the UNC-Chapel Hill for an MFA in painting.  In 1968 I married Hugh Rogers, brother of our classmate Donna Rogers, and we immediately joined the Peace Corps and spent the next two years teaching in South Korea.  Our first child was born there.  With the exception of a three-year stint teaching art and art history at a Massachusetts prep school for girls, I have not done ‘public work.’  I have painted, exhibited, raised three sons, gardened, designed and helped build our energy efficient home, and I have been very involved in transportation, watershed, and conservation non-profit groups.   More recently we have acquired and take care of a small private retreat center, Saranam, which hosts meditation, yoga, journaling, and other healing retreats.  For 34 years we have lived in Kerens, West Virginia, among the beautiful mountains and rivers near the Monongahela National Forest.   Our three grandchildren are an especial delight.

After RJR I attended UNC-CH and played more than studied.  Consequently, in March 67 I was drafted into the Army.  Went to OCS and was commissioned a 2LT of Infantry in 1968.  Then to helicopter flight training and on to Vietnam flying scout helicopters in the 1st Cavalry Division. Through the Army's degree completion program attended Columbus State University in Columbus, Georgia (BA - PoliticalScience 1973).  During my military career I held various command and staff positions in Germany, Korea, Japan, Fort Bragg, Fort Hood, Texas and Patrick AFB (Cocoa Beach, Florida) where I retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1988.

As a transition to civilian life, I attended Florida State University College of Law (JD with Honors 1990).  From 1990 through 2010, I practiced law in Orlando and Melbourne, Florida.  I was selected as Pro Bono Attorney of the Year for 2009 - 2010 for my work with the Homeless Advocacy Project through the Orange County Bar Association.  In February 2010 I retired for good as a present to myself for turning 65.

I have been married to my wife, Gail since 1988 which included a beautiful step-daugter and more recently a son-in-law and two wonderful granddaughters, Maggie 10, and Lily 8.  Gail and I spend time between homes in Melbourne and the southern Appalachians (Sautee-Nacoochee, Georgia).  In retirement I have become  an avid golfer and hiker, and a total push-over for Maggie and Lily.

This was added after our reunion which Gail and I thoroughly enjoyed.  Thanks to all the planners and doers for their very hard work in making the reunion weekend so special and memorable.

After graduating from UNC-CH (yea!) with a BA in Education, Steve and I got married and began to travel the world... well, through the Air Force - Tampa, Fla; Thailand (Steve); and Tokyo, Japan.  After the service, we moved to Lincoln, NE, Steve's alma mater, and then on to Los Angeles, CA.  Spending almost 11 years there and traveling to Hawaii, Europe, and Tahiti, we returned to Winston in '83 and reaclimated ourselves as North Carolinians.  I've enjoyed teaching for about 25 yrs., FL/NE/NC, picking up an MA in Education and National Boards and renewal certification along the way.  As part of the WSFCS, I got to travel to Berkley, CA as part of a science grant (CHEM) and hear and meet Dr. Glen Seaborg, Nobel Prize winner.  Retiring in June was truly one of the most exciting occasions ever!  Now, I can spend time on writing; knitting for my grandson; computering, games and research; ipoding; and reading.  Life is good.
